Replacing the ADF Document Feeder Maintenance Kit (HP M525F M525C)

Replace the Roller Assembly

Step 1.   Press the large release button and lift open the jam-access cover, located at the top of the ADF unit.

Step 2.   Release a plastic lever to lower down the plastic shield and access the roller assembly. 

Step 3.   Rotate the ADF roller assembly down. 

Step 4.   Slide the ADF roller assembly towards the front of the printer to remove it.  It is keyed to fit so make sure it is removed carefully.

Step 5.   Carefully insert the new roller assembly, lining it up, then rotate the roller assembly up, rotate the plastic shield up to lock in place.

Replace the Separation Pad

Step 1.   Press the large release button and lift open the jam-access cover, located at the top of the ADF unit.

Step 2.   Lift the document feeder input tray upwards and out of the way. 

Step 3.   Push inwards on the latch to release the ADF separation pad.

Step 4.   Now lower the document feeder input tray, and then lift the ADF separation pad.

Step 5.   Remove the ADF separation pad.

Step 6.   If the spring falls off make sure to reinstall it securely.

Step 7.  Install the new ADF separation pad, make sure it is seated firmly and locked in place, reposition input tray and the top jam-access cover.
