50.9 Fuser Error on the Color LaserJet CP3505, 3800, 3600, 3000, 2700 series printers
Fuser error codes for the Color LaserJet 3000, 3600, 3800, 2700, CP3505 series printers.
A 50.9 fuser error is one of the most common errors. If you get a 50.9 error (or any 50.x error) you can try turning the power off, reseating the fuser, and powering the printer back on for more printing; sometimes this will temporarily reset the fuser and let it print a few more pages, but in almost all cases the error will return shortly and you will need to replace the fuser.
Fusers are a consumable part and it is expected over the life of the printer you will replace the fuser several times. HP estimates average fuser life to last around 100,000 pages; but a fuser can fail much earlier depending on printing conditions, heavy paper jams, and the quality of the fuser installed.
Fortunately, the fuser on this model is VERY easy to replace. Check out our instructions below, and purchasing options for replacing the fuser.
