51.2C 51.2M 51.2Y 51.2K Error on HP Color LaserJet 4600

Any of these error codes (51.2c , 51.2m , 51.2y , 51.2k) points to a failure with one of the laser scanner assemblies on the HP Color LaserJet 4600 series.  To solve this error code, replace the corresponding laser scanner.  Occasionally when the laser scanner fails you will also hear loud noises (often higher-pitched noises like screeching sounds); those noises can be another sign that the laser scanner needs replacing. The laser scanner is a common failure part on this model printer. There are four laser scanners in this model, one for each toner color (cyan, magenta, yellow, black). The 4 laser scanner assemblies are identical parts.  

The error code meanings are as follows:
51.2C points to the Cyan laser scanner
51.2M points to the Magenta laser scanner
51.2Y points to the Yellow laser scanner
51.2K points to the Black laser scanner
