The HP LaserJet 5M is a workhorse medium sized PC/Mac
compatible printer. (The 'M' stands for Multi-environment -- it's
Macintosh Compatible) It includes an HP
J2552 JetDirect network card and built-in postscript level 2.
The JetDirect card has a LocalTalk, BNC, and RJ-45 ethernet connections
(No USB connection). You get a lot of bang for your buck, truly
an excellent value. The LaserJet 5 series printers have a long track
record and have proven to be extremely reliable.
We would much rather own one of these than one of the newer "disposable"
personal laser printers (a.k.a. toasters). It's really is hard to
find a more reliable mid-sized laser printer. Original HP List price:
$1985. These are built to last!

not fast-talking sales people. Many companies sell what they claim
are “refurbished” printers, or they don’t tell you anything
about the condition of the printer. You'll never know what you're getting!

BE CAREFUL! |
We see it all the time; companies try to make a quick buck selling used
printers as refurbished printers. They clean the printer’s exterior,
run a few test pages, and ship it to the unsuspecting customer. These printers
have never been inspected by a competent technician and vital components
have never been replaced. The result is a printer that runs poorly and fails
prematurely. This is not the way we operate! |
