HP LaserJet 9000 series - Reset the maintenance count

 Resetting the maintenance count.

 

Steps for resetting the maintenance count differ for each model printer. There are instructions for the various models below, starting with instructions for a standard LaserJet 9000.

If you have a standard HP LaserJet 9000:

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold the checkmark (Select) button.
3. Turn the printer on while still holding the checkmark (Select) button.
4. Continue to hold the checkmark button down until all three control panel lights (LEDs) illuminate, and then release it. "Select Language" will appear on the control panel.
5. Use the Up Arrow to scroll to NEW MAINTENANCE KIT.
6. Press the checkmark button.
7. Verify that the maintenance count was reset by printing a configuration page: press the checkmark, scroll to "INFORMATION" and press checkmark, scoll to "PRINT CONFIGURATION" and press checkmark.

If you have a LaserJet 9000mfp/9000Lmfp:

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Press and hold the 6 button, then press the power button to turn the MFP on.
3. When the three LEDs are on, release the 6 button.
4. "SELECT LANGUAGE" appears on the screen. Press and release the 3 button. "NEW MAINTENANCE KIT" appears on the screen.
5. Press and release the 6 button again.

If you have a LaserJet 9040/9050 Series Printer:

1. Turn the printer off.
2. Turn the printer back on and wait for the memory count, when the printer starts counting memory press the checkmark (Select) button.
3. Continue to hold down the checkmark button until all of the control panel LEDs are illuminated, then release the checkmark button.
4. When the checkmark button is released, "Select Language" will appear on the control panel.
5. Use the Up Arrow to scroll to NEW MAINTENANCE KIT .
6. Press the checkmark button.

If you have a LaserJet 9040mfp/9050mfp:

1. Turn the MFP off.
2. Turn the MFP back on and wait for the memory count to begin, when the printer starts counting memory press and hold the 6 button.
3. When the three LEDs are on, release the 6 button. SELECT LANGUAGE appears on the screen.
4. Press and release the 3 button until NEW MAINTENANCE KIT appears on the screen.
5. Press and release the 6 button again.
