Service Rates

Repairs performed at our facility are billed at $80 per hour. We prefer to do all repairs in our workshop. You may ship us your printers or drop them off. If shipping, please pack them with plenty of padding to prevent shipping damage. Call us if you have questions.

Onsite service is billed at $100 per hour, drive time is also billed at $100 per hour, minimum $100 labor/drive time charge. For return trips, we will not charge drive time, only the time spent at your location. Call us if you have questions.

Plotters and HP Designjet service and repair: please call us for service rates.

Warranties

We take great pride in offering high quality refurbished and new printing products. All warranty work is performed by Printertechs.com, Inc. or a third party authorized to work on our behalf. Please contact us if you think your product is defective. Frequently improper setup or mis-configuration is the reason items fail to work properly.

Unless otherwise stated, warranty lengths are as follows:

Refurbished printers shipped via UPS
You are responsible for shipping the printer to us (at your expense); we perform the repair and ship the printer back to you (our expense).

6 months, parts and labor

Refurbished printers shipped via freight on a pallet:
Large Printers that require shipping on a pallet, for example Laserjets 9050, 4650, 4700, 4345, 5550, etc., typically weigh 100 lbs. or more and are too large to ship via UPS or Fedex.

Option 1, parts only warranty: We provide troubleshooting and tech support to determine what parts you need for the repair and ship the parts to you. You are responsible for installing the parts.
Option 2, parts and labor warranty:
We perform the repair at our facility at no cost to you, however you are responsible for shipping charges to ship the printer to us and back to you.

Refurbished 9000/9050 series fusers, 4200 fusers (plastic sleeve version)

New products have a 90 day  warranty from the date of purchase. New products with legitimate defects will  be repaired or replaced with a compatible equivalent at PrinterTechs discretion.

Warranties cover defective parts and workmanship, not normal wear and tear. Warranties do not cover damage caused by misuse of the product, defective toner cartridges, media that the printer was not designed to use, any attempts to repair, alter, or modify the product without our approval, or damage caused by connected equipment. Warranties are void if quality control stickers are removed or altered.

Shipping Damage

We package everything and we ship very carefully. Please notify us immediately if you suspect shipping damage. If shipping damage is significant, we will file a claim with the carrier. Please keep the boxes and shipping materials for the carrier to inspect. We will arrange for a replacement product to be sent. If you are shipping items back to us, it is your responsibility to safely ship the items back to us. Use the original packaging to help prevent shipping damage. If we receive items that are damaged it is your responsibility to file a claim with the shipper you used. We cannot give refunds on damaged products.

All returns must be authorized by an employee of Printertechs.com, Inc. Please contact us if you think you need to return an item.

Core Charges


Printertechs.com, Inc. sells many parts on “exchange.” This means we will send you a part at a discounted price and you have 30 days to return your old part. The old part is called a core. Cores are due back 30 days from the invoice date. We do give a two week grace period before core charges are assessed for failing to return the core (45 days past the invoice date). If we receive a core after it has been core charged, a $20 late fee per item will be deducted from the core charge refund. Core charges are not refundable 60 days past the original invoice date. Most items we sell on exchange are also available without an exchange. If you know you will not be returning a core, please order the item without exchange.
