After lots of testing, we have finally released our custom metal fuser drive gear assembly for the HP Laserjet P4014, P4015, P4515. The plastic fuser drive gear in these models never seemed to last very long, sometimes wearing out at 100,000 pages or less. We have had great success with the durability of our metal swing plate gear assembly in the HP 42x0, 43x0 series printers and we used the same concept in this gear assembly. The dual bearings smooth out the rotation, and the brass provides a much more durable material. This is an upgrade that many technicians have asked us about because the OEM and aftermarket gears weren’t lasting long enough, and replacing these gears is very time consuming. So better to fix it once with better quality parts!

If you hear grinding noises from the rear of your HP LaserJet P4014, P4015, P4515, or M4555 series printer, you probably need to replace the gear assembly that drives the fuser.
