If you have a LaserJet 4L and would like a similar printer, the closest printer we can recommend is the LaserJet 2100, 2200, 2300, or 2420. The LaserJet 2100 is the closest to the 4L in terms of reliability; in fact it is is more reliable and overall a much better printer than the 4L.

    The LaserJet 4MV was an excellent printer, handling paper sizes up to 11 x 17. Many years later, quality parts and toner cartridges are not available for this model. We have discontinued this model but we do carry an excellent replacement. We are recommending customers replace their LaserJet 4MV with the next vintage model, the HP LaserJet 5000n. These are very similar printers with great compatibility to the 4MV series, so ideally you can install your new HP LaserJet 5000n without changing any printer settings.
