Our refurbished RM2-6431 fuser should outlast the new genuine HP fuser based on our tests, potentially twice as long.
The original genuine HP OEM fuser had a pressure roller that would wear out in 25,000 to 35,000 pages; we’ve even seen some fail in fewer than 10,000 pages. For reference, most fusers in a small printer like this last around 60,000 to 80,000 pages. Given the high cost of the new genuine HP fuser many customers have told us they would rather recycle their printer than get it fixed, which is too bad. The printer should be fixable for a lot less money – if only a better pressure roller were available, we could refurbish their fuser.
Well, the wait is over. We have been testing pressure rollers for this printer for several years and they have all disappointed us with either poor fusing or poor longevity. We have dozens of samples of failed rollers, and many of these rollers are being used by other fuser refurbishers who simply don’t have the same high standards. The roller is very tricky to manufacture because of the unusual design of this fuser, and as we know, even the OEM didn’t get it right. With the roller we use, we have tested our refurbished fuser to over 65,000 pages and it still performs great! That’s twice what we have seen from the original HP fuser and at roughly half the price.

Exchange program
Purchasing a fuser on exchange is a simple way to save money and prevent electronic waste from ending up in a landfill. We send you a fuser and you send back your old fuser in the same box. Easy!
- By purchasing a fuser or maintenance kit on exchange you are agreeing to send back your used fuser (core) within 30 days of purchase.
- We will periodically email core return reminders at the email address given with the order. If the fuser core is not received within 30 days a core charge will be issued to your credit card.
- Send the fuser core back in the original packaging along with the included return authorization sheet. Return shipping charges will be your responsibility.
- International customers: Because of high shipping costs, we recommend you purchase fusers without a core exchange. If you do purchase fusers on exchange, understand your return responsibility will also include paying for any import fees, brokerage fees, or tariffs when sending your core back.
