Blank or dead display on control panel for HP Color LaserJet CP5525 series

If you are seeing a blank or dead display on your HP Color LaserJet CP5525 series printer, you may have a failing formatter assembly. The formatter is the main logic processing board for the printer. This blank display issue is becoming a common problem as these CP5525 printers age.

The general troubleshooting advice is to turn the printer off, and try reinstalling the formatter, plus remove and reseat any installed memory chips and/or solid state drives that are contained inside the formatter assembly. We have not seen this reseating process fix many blank screens but it is still worth a try.
