Replacing the Swing Plate Gear - Short Method

This tutorial will give you step-by-step instructions for installing PrinterTechs' metal swing plate gear.

There are 2 methods for repairing a worn swing plate assembly-- the shortcut method (which you are viewing now) will be relatively simple if you follow directions carefully.

Generally if you catch the problem early enough you can solve it by just installing the new metal gear and plastic spacer disc, via the shortcut method.  We recommend trying that first.  If the noise or jamming persists, then you may need to do the full install, which is an advanced repair and will probably require an onsite technician.
